Attic Lekytos with black figures and a scene of a dance

SHORT DESCRIPTION:

The lekythos presents an underlined foot at the bottom by a spared weblike pattern, followed by a black varnished motive to underline a clear Añastro. The face of the foot is always black varnished as part of the base and the brief stem. The result is a great clear varnished log up to the shoulder where are represented some dances of satyrs and goats.

At the centre an ithyphallic satyr plays the double flute; from both the sides there is a pair of dancers: the ithyphallic satyrs are holding the goats from the legs. The margin at the top of the log is highlighted by a black pattern in a zigzag pattern emphasized by two thin black lines.

From the shoulder to a quarter of the neck the lekythos is again decorated with black painted palmettes, alternated in the movement. The remaining part of the neck and the lip are black painted, as well as the outer part of the ribbon handle.
