Black-painted oinochoe

Description:

Trilobate oinochoe with continuous profile and ribbon handle, from the shoulder to the rim on which it rests. At the ends of the handle two head are applied: a Maenad, above the rim, and a bearded Silenus. It is one of the most significant findings of the significant amount of “fine table pottery” found in the necropolis of Polizzi Generosa.
