CURTAIN of the 21st century

Description:

The Sicilian drawn-thread technique which consists in a lattice creating by removing threads from the weft and warp of a linen cloth made it possible to achieve a remarkable continuity between the embroidery and fabric backing, without perceiving that something was inserted as in the case of filet creations. Its use was experimented on these curtains taking inspiration from the ornamental motifs of a set of curtains whose fabric was produced by the historical Gulì textile factory featuring the 17th-centiry motif of two birds facing each other while drinking from the Spring of Life, which is represented here by a plant crowned by a vase of flowers.
