DESCRIPTION:
It’s an ancient rural tool that works by manual pushing on two wheels: while it goes on, it lets fall the seed with a regular distance through a specially lever. It is a very important tool for the peasant because of the fact that the sowing process is composed by a sequence of operations as the act to throw the seed in the correct way in order to guarantee the happy end of it. In the Sicilian dialect, it is commonly called with the expression “machina pì seminari”; this sewing machine doesn’t allow to regulate the distance of the seeds in a very perfect way as the most modern machines of precision do, but once it was a very useful tool in the rural word.
