SHORT DESCRIPTION:
A small part of the ornithological collection of Dr. Carlo Orlando was added in the ’70s to the original nucleus formed with the multiple
collections made by Minà Palumbo. In 2006 the collections were enriched with a collection of over 200 species of birds and various other
vertebrates, made by Antonio Venchierutti in 50 years, donated to the museum by his nephew, Xavier Blonde.
It consists of 200 pieces, especially birds, collected mostly in the territory of the Madonie. The collection of eggs is also part of it and belonged to the Whitaker collection: these are dozens of well-preserved specimens and kept in a special cabinet.
