iron plough with four ploughshares

DESCRIPTION:

The iron plough with four ploughshares is called “tillaru” in the Sicilian dialect and it is necessary for the animal-drawn ploughing. It is used from ancient times and it is still used today if not replaced by the tractors, in order to prepare the following workings of the ground or directly for the sowing. Among the various typologies of ploughs (with one or more ploughshares, animal-drawn or human-drawn) the plough with four ploughshares has a double couple of rhombus-shaped ploughshares, two wooden handles and a hook for the pulling.
