SHORT DESCRIPTION:
The object consists of two wooden parts: a longitudinal axis of cm 103 and cm 2,5 of thickness, to the extremity of which there is a sort of semisphere, obtained from the learned hands of the “curatolo” (the farm or a shepherd) through his own knife. It served for the reparation
of raw fresh milk and it was curdled in order to break the curd and separate the cheese’s serum from the “tuma”.
Some engravings very often were found on the handle of the same “ruetila” that served to measure the quantity of milk into the “schisca” (a container of about 10 litres) and into the “tina” (a big beech-wood recipient). The farms often decided to come together creating a subsidiary relationship. For this reason it was important to measure the quantities of milk for each of them.
