Museo “Trame di Filo” di Isnello

It consists of two ideal sections even if the works are not sequentially disposed. The first section is dedicated to the ancient or more modern artefacts, but closely linked to the local tradition, especially in the decorative repertoire from which some ornamental motifs of a sacred value were drawn freely from the past.

The second section can be defined as that of the experimentations made by the pupils inside the school “Isnello Ricama”, in the sense of a research of new uses of the filet traditional techniques, the embroidery and of the Sicilian draawn-thread work that has also been addressed to the field of the furnishing accessories.

In 1999 the institution of the School “Isnello Ricama” for filet and drawn work’s recovery produces some experiences that, remembering the rich cultural past traditionally linked to the sacred and textile equipment, had the ability to propose some cues for the decorative patterns’ reinterpretation of classical art and of the Islamic-Norman and Baroque tradition whose results were recollected together with the testimonies of the 19th and 20th Century in the Museum  “Trame di Fuilo” realized in 2009 by the Municipality of Isnello, with the financial contribution of the Regional Province of Palermo and of the Parco delle Madonie.
